Zenith El Primero Tourbillon Watch

In Switzerland these days, you could count on one hand the number of watchmakers capable of constructing it. So, a “homemade tourbillon” is a sure sign that the company possesses and masters watchmaking know-how. ZENITH is no longer content to resolve just one difficulty, no matter how complex it may be. Zenith's tourbillon is combined with a chronograph calibre with a calendar – another watchmaking complication – and a high frequency, a third challenge. It is the only watch on the market with such a complex mechanism, aiming to attain the most precise chronometric performance possible.

This tourbillon is unique in more than one way: it shows off its rotating carriage in the upper left-hand part of the dial, including a built-in calendar. This asymmetry aesthetically highlights the tourbillon’s mechanism, visible through an opening in the dial, while maintaining fine proportions and elegant lines. The date is displayed – in a patented system – by means of a disk around the circumference of the carriage. The El Primero chronograph’s automatic calibre is the heart of the movement. While the high frequency assigned to this exceptional motor generates greater precision, it also demands increased power. To protect performance, ZENITH designers have developed an in-line escapement that shifts the balance spring to the outer edge of the rotating carriage. The result is a tourbillon and a high-frequency automatic chronograph with over 50 hours of power reserve. The calibre is composed of 381 components, including 67 for the rotating carriage. Yet, it is barely 1 mm thicker than the original El Primero.

The tourbillon comes in two models: steel or rose gold, with counters at three and six o’clock. The seconds hand in the tourbillon carriage rotates with it in 60 seconds. A true mechanical masterpiece and a technical exploit, to date, the ZENITH tourbillon is the only one to beat at a high frequency, with a quarter more vibrations of its balance than other constructions. Let us examine the unique characteristics of the ZENITH tourbillon. The case’s middle is formed using a double stamping process, which creates one curve at a time along the length and depth. The olivette makes it easier to grasp the crown. The magic of the calibre in movement can be seen through the Sapphire glass. So, if you love chronometric feats, you are going to adore this watchmaking creation.

Breguet Introduces the Queen of Naples 8967ST

The Reine de Naples is a watch in a league of its own. Created in tribute to the wristwatch ordered two centuries ago from Breguet by Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples, it embodies the inimitable Breguet approach to fine watch making. Its softly curving egg-shaped case, its crown at 4 o'clock and its dedicated bracelet ball-lug are all distinctive characteristics composing a model as feminine as it is original. These signature features also endow it with enviable iconic status, judging by the worldwide success it has enjoyed since its launch.

It now appears in a steel version that is also slightly larger.

For a timepiece that has only thus far existed in gold set with diamonds, this new version is a means of drawing closer to the everyday lives of women who can thus wear it daily and in all circumstances. However, this concession to modern times has been made without sacrificing one iota of its exquisite refinement. The Reine de Naples in steel maintains all the subtle details that make it such an emblematic model: the delightfully curving feminine case with fluted caseband, the off-set crown, and the ball-lug at 6 o'clock securing it to the alligator leather strap. Its white mother-of-pearl dial is adorned with two relief-painted Arabic numerals, as well as with the individual series number of the watch. The sapphire-crystal caseback affords a superb view of the mechanical self-winding Breguet movement. Crafted in harmony with the finest watch making traditions, its solid gold oscillating weight is hand-engraved on a rose engine. Its silicon escapement illustrates the message regarding Breguet consistently conveyed by Nicolas G. Hayek: "Breguet is the perfect meeting of beauty and advanced technology". The use of this highly innovative material, not only for the escapement, but also for the balance-spring, contributes to the precision and the reliability of the anti-magnetic movement. All of which offers convincing proof, if proof were needed, that Breguet is determined to apply the finest technical enhancements to its ladies' watches too.

Oris 4e RHFS Limited Edition Watch

The 4ème Régiment d’Hélicoptères des Forces Spéciales (4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment) is an elite French Army aviation regiment and the latest Special Forces unit to have inspired – and tested – its own Oris limited edition watch.

Based on the award-winning Oris BC4 aviation collection, the Oris 4e RHFS Limited Edition is a professional flight instrument with a quality Swiss chronograph movement. The members of the regiment have tested this pilot’s watch to extremes.

The multi-piece stainless steel case, instantly recognisable as Oris BC4, is coated in gun metal gray PVD to ensure it is non-reflective, helping the troops to maintain camouflage during missions.

The Oris Quick Lock Crown system ensures that the watch cannot be adjusted accidentally and the strap, with its innovative folding safety clasp, makes the watch easily and rapidly adjustable for a perfect fit on the wrist in every situation.

The design link to the 4e RHFS is as subtle as the troops are in their missions – and just as effective. The regiment’s logo sits behind the small second display in discreet grey against the black dial and on the case back with the limited edition number. The tip of the second hand is in the blue, white and red of the French flag – a nod to the origins of the elite troops for whom this watch was specifically designed.

Oris is to the regiment as the regiment is to the French Special Forces it supports: they go nowhere without us.

Hublot New Watch - THE official watch of the FIFA 2010 World Cup Champions

To honor the incredible journey of the World Cup winning Spanish team, Hublot, Official Timekeeper of the FIFA 2010 World Cup, is dedicating the ultimate and exclusive official competition watch, the "FIFA World Cup Winner’s watch", THE official timepiece of the World Cup Champions, to them.

A Big Bang in the Spanish national colors and the gold of the famous Trophy, of course. Sunday 11th July 2010 will remain engraved on the memory: in their first ever FIFA World Cup final, Spain succeeded Italy by achieving a historic victory which crowned them the kings of football, a title the country is adding to their European Championship win in EURO 2008. A team of exceptional players made this triumphant journey possible, and Hublot was with them right from the very beginning of their adventure, both as Official Timekeeper of the FIFA 2010 World Cup, and Official Timekeeper of EURO 2008, and as the team's partner during the competition, such was the degree to which their talent and their desire to win had already convinced Hublot's CEO, Jean-Claude Biver.

And maybe the story will not end there… With the next FIFA World Cup taking place in 2014 in Brazil, for which Hublot will once again be the Official Timekeeper, and in keeping with footballers' superstitious beliefs, we would like to think that Hublot could bring the Spanish team good luck. Who knows...? And today, the Swiss watchmaking brand is dedicating a special creation to them… as a symbol of their victory, THE official souvenir, preserving this fantastic historic event forever.

The model is a Big Bang 44 mm Gold Ceramic Automatic Chronograph, which proudly bears the Spanish national colors and the gold of the legendary FIFA World Cup trophy: The case is fashioned in 5N pink gold, with a satin-finished black ceramic bezel, and the exclusive logo representing the FIFA 2010 World Cup winners featured in a subtle gold tone at 3 o'clock on a matt navy blue dial. The 45-minute counter (to register half and full time...) specially developed by Hublot for the footballing world features at 9 o'clock.

The Spanish colors of red and yellow figure on the indexes, the two hands and on the double stitching of the rubber Alligator strap, consisting of a rubber interior stitched to an upper alligator layer. On the back of the watch, the opaque sapphire crystal case-back is decorated with the Spanish flag and the gold Star which is the World Cup Champions' symbol. It is inscribed with the words 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA CHAMPION.

Only 100 numbered watches will be produced. It will appeal to collectors who wish to have the ultimate official souvenir of the competition and of this historic victory.

Girard Perregaux - ww.tc Chronograph

Created in 2000, the ww.tc (world wide time control) collection quickly became one of the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture's iconic lines, combining sophisticated style with watchmaking expertise. Its "world time" function provides a simultaneous display of all time zones on its dial. The secret of its exclusive system is a coupling mechanism used for driving a ring displaying the time for 24 time zones, represented by the same number of cities. The hour ring has a day/night contrast function which makes it easier to read.

The original model in this collection, the ww.tc chronograph is available in a new steel version. Its ergonomic and generously-sized 43mm case is entirely satin-finished, which emphasizes the subtle strength of its design. Its matte black "stepped" dial has also been subtly reworked in the same style, playing with the contrasts of black and white; the 24-hour ring has been redesigned with two arrows showing its direction of rotation, and new baton-style hands indicate the hours and minutes.

A fusion of technical virtuosity, the exclusive GP033C0 in-house movement combines chronograph and date functions with world time indication. The 13''' self-winding calibre features a 46-hour power reserve. Its finishes, which can be seen through the sapphire case-back, are examples of the finest watchmaking tradition: circular graining on the main plate, Côtes de Genève on the bridges and oscillating weight, and blued steel screws.

The elegant matte black alligator strap has a deployant buckle to guarantee the wearer optimum comfort. A version with a steel bracelet, also with a full satin finish, is also available.

Hublot Big Bang Special Edition 200th Anniversary of Mexican Independance

Hublot creates a special edition to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the independence of Mexico.

Hublot is joining the Mexican people in celebrating the 200th anniversary of their independence, with a limited edition King Power in the national colors, featuring the symbol of the "Bell of Dolores" engraved on the case-back.

It was in 1810 that the people of Dolores, led by its priest Miguel Hidalgo y Castillo, started their rebellion to free themselves from Spanish domination. Calling on the villagers - by ringing the bells of his parish - to revolt against the colonial grip, he uttered the famous "Cry of Dolores", an exhortation to fight the Spanish government to win national independence. Without military experience and armed with improvised weapons, the inhabitants of Dolores triggered a wave of revolution throughout the country, thereby marking the first crucial step towards its independence. Now, in 2010, Hublot is paying tribute to these early combatants by creating a King Power bearing on its dial the colors of Mexico, and whose case-back reproduces an illustration of the famous "Cry of Dolores", symbolized by the bell that sounded the rallying call in 1810.
